SUSTAINABILITY POLICIES
Hi, my name is Jennifer :)
Sustainability and respecting the environment is important to me, so when I thought of the idea to open this Etsy shop I knew I wanted it to be as eco-friendly as possible.
Here are my sustainability policies:

1) The shop will be temporary. Yes, you read that correctly, I'm not keeping this shop open forever. In order for my business to stay sustainable it HAS to be temporary.
The materials use to make my products are harvested from the plants in my area, but I refuse to harvest a plant until there's nothing left. Once I stop harvesting a specific type of plant it wont be available for sale...Unless you're willing to wait a couple years for the plant to grow and replenish itself.

2) The products will only be sold on Etsy. Limiting yourself to only selling on one platform might not seem like a smart business move, and it's not, but it is sustainable. Etsy is the only website that allows small businesses to sell their products that offsets the carbon emissions caused by shipping (you can fact check that by clicking this link). Until another company offers the same deal, or the business makes enough to afford offsetting carbon emissions itself, Etsy is the only option.

3) The packaging will be eco-friendly. I personally try to buy items that only come in eco-friendly packaging, and I know others do too. So whether it's shredding my own paper, asking friends for second hand packaging from products they ordered online, or simply using old cardboard boxes as opposed to paper bubble mailers, I will ensure that every product is packaged as sustainable as possible.

4) Transparency will be prioritized. Any business can claim to be sustainable, but not every business can back up that claim. I'll provide evidence and pictures of my sustainable practices on Etsy, social media platforms, and here on this website. If you want clarification on any process used to sell my products don't hesitate to reach out, and I'll do my best to respond quickly and add that information to this site.

5) Goals: To be more sustainable, I plan on buying compostable tape, a shredder (for packaging), and a solar panel to charge my phone and laptop when I make enough money to do so. If you have any suggestions I can add them to this list.
